Employee Relations Coordinator

We are currently searching for an Employee Relations Coordinator to join our Human Resources department based out of our Fe Springs corporate office. This position will provide direct assistance to the HR Department and the Sr. Director of HR and Hiring.

Responsibilities:

The Employee Relations (ER) Coordinator plays a crucial role in fostering positive relationships between employees and the organization. They serve as a bridge between management and employees, ensuring fair treatment, resolving conflicts, and promoting a productive work environment. The Employee Relations Coordinator possesses strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolution abilities, and a deep understanding of employment laws and regulations. They are empathetic, approachable, and able to maintain impartiality while advocating for fairness and equity in the workplace.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Interpret and communicate company policies and procedures to employees, ensuring understanding and compliance.
  • Stay updated on relevant employment laws and regulations to ensure organizational practices align with legal requirements.
  • Actively address and resolve conflicts and disputes between employees, departments, or between employees and management at the direction of leadership.
  • Assist in conducting thorough investigations into complaints, allegations of misconduct, or policy violations; gathering evidence, interviewing relevant parties, and making recommendations for corrective action based on findings.
  • Prepare investigation files in preparation of grievance meetings.
  • Review, interpret and provide guidance regarding union collective bargaining agreement.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all union personnel.
  • Research and prepare responses to Unemployment Claims; represent company in hearings as required.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to achieve continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Support performance management processes by providing guidance to managers and employees on performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and terminations when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of Employee Relations issues, investigations, and outcomes.
  • Conduct exit interviews with departing employees to gather feedback and identify trends or issues that may need to be addressed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Training and Education

· High school diploma or equivalent

· One year HR experience and previous administrative experience.

Technical skills:

o Knowledge of modern methods of office administration and business correspondence formatting.

o Highly effective organizational and time management skills.

o Skilled in independently prioritizing, planning, coordinating, organizing, leading, and monitoring multiple organizational projects.

Communication skills:

o Skilled in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.

o Ability to exercise tact and discretion in preparing, handling, and disclosing information of a confidential, controversial and/or sensitive nature.

Interpersonal Relationships:

o Ability to interface with management, vendors, and other employees on a regular basis.

o Has the propensity to project a positive attitude and look for solutions to problems.

o Ability to collaborate with others and share ideas to work towards a common goal.

Decision Making:

o Ability to manage time and adhere to deadlines.

o Knowledge of processes necessary to make an informed decision.

o Ability to work on own initiative when minimum supervision is provided and practice a high level of confidentiality.
