Position Summary
The Employee Relations Advisor is responsible for oversight of Employee Relations activities throughout the US and Canada. This role partners with HR team members, business leaders, compliance, legal and individual employees. The ER Advisor will drive employee equity, putting people at the center and fostering trust through robust processes, education, and partnership.
Principal Responsibilities
- Provide consultation and guidance to Human Resources team members, managers and employees in the US and Canada on complex Employee Relations issues within their business unit/function.
- Act as an employee advocate ensuring equity and fairness in all processes and interactions.
- Consult on all involuntary terminations. Work with internal and external legal counsel and Compliance team as needed.
- Develop investigation strategy for workplace investigations. Conduct investigations as required. Responsible for ensuring all relevant information is gathered and documented. Provide all factual data to management and counsel as needed. Advise on proposed outcomes of investigations.
- Manage accommodation processes and reviews in conjunction with appropriate stakeholders.
- In partnership with legal team, educate managers and HR partners on Employee Relations best practices.
- Collate and share Employee Relations quarterly reports with relevant leadership team members and HR.
- Review and advise in partnership with HR, legal and business leaders on any large reorganization activities to ensures processes are objectively and consistently administered
- Identifies and communicates trends within the organization and the industry related to Employee Relations.
- Required to travel as needed to support the ER function or other relevant assignments.
Education / Experience Requirements
- 5 yrs Human Resources experience
- Experience managing complex Employee Relations issues
- Exceptional integrity and confidentiality
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
- General understanding of labor laws and human resources compliance preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication and influencing skills
- Demonstrated business acumen
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, in a team-oriented environment.
TRAVEL REQUIRED: <20%
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $80,000 and $95,000 however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will also include benefits such as medical, prescription drug, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, participation in 401(k) savings plan, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO, short- and long-term disability and parental leave, dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
