JOB SUMMARY:
As an Employee Development and Engagement Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience and culture within MXS. By implementing various programs and initiatives, you will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging work environment that fosters employee satisfaction, productivity, and retention. You will also develop programs that support employee integration, recognition, and development.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with the Director of HR to outline a comprehensive strategy to become an employer of choice with target dates, quantifiable measures, and any associated costs.
  • Conduct an employee engagement survey, develop company-wide and department action plans based on identified areas for improvement. Monitor progress and measure impact and improvement.
  • Monitor the content and quality of MXS performance reviews to ensure that quality feedback is being delivered throughout the year, and potential training needs identified.
  • Ensure core values are embedded in MXS communications, training, and recognition programs.
  • Develop a robust font-line leadership program with explicit links to MXS core values and safety culture. Measure and embed new skills.
  • Develop and manage the quarterly and annual employee recognition program.
  • Develop and manage the employee service award awards program.
  • Develop a comprehensive new hire orientation and integration program to ensure employees have the skills needed to operate safely and productively.
  • Analyze attrition data and exit interviews. Develop strategies to improve employee retention.
  • Establish effective communication channels to keep associates informed about company updates, training, performance, policies, and events. Encourage open and transparent feedback.
  • Lead special projects, conduct research, and analyze programs as requested.
  • Assist the Director of HR with organizing employee events, including but not limited to team building, holiday events, and company outings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3+ years in Human Resources with specific experience in talent management and/or employee engagement and development roles.
  • Strong understanding of employee engagement principles and strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and propose actionable solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact and build meaningful relationships with staff at all levels.
  • Passion for creating a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Work as a team member as well as independently, exercising judgement and initiative.
  • Knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws and regulations.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used, as necessary.
