Position Summary
Oversees Process & Procedure documentation activities for the Employee Benefits (EB) Underwriting Organization.  In this role, incumbent will be responsible for the development, implementation, delivery and oversight of departmental process and procedures documentation. You will also be the primary point-of-contact for performing audits (internal & external) and assembling data for business performance tracking.  Scope of activities will include the areas of [1] RFP intake, registration & management; [2] underwriting & quoting; [3] new business case implementation and [4] in-force business amendments/renewals updates. Updates would be made based on technology enhancements or launch of new products / product features.  Working across the Underwriting organization as well as with partner organizations, this individual will play a pivotal role enabling the Underwriting organization to achieve its goals related to efficiency/profitability as well as providing a superior Customer Experience to our Broker, Employer and Employee customers.  This role will also participate in and provide functional expertise as needed to organizational projects/initiatives.

The base salary range for this position is $54,000 - $81,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 yrs. of Employee Benefits Insurance Segment business
  • Product line focus in Dental, Vision, Life, Disability and Supplemental Health
  • Functional knowledge of overarching business dynamics and Customer Life Cycle, including Broker/Distribution, Underwriting, Product Development and Case Implementation
  • Knowledge of EB Small/Mid-Market business dynamics
  • Bachelors Degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Marketplace dynamics, and related differences by Market Segment
  • Familiar with key elements of the EB Sales/Underwriting cycle as well New Business Implementation processes
  • Strong knowledge of Process & Procedures principles, tools, techniques and practices; including process improvement
  • Familiarity with on-shore/off-shore resourcing
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel/Word/PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) Tableau a Plus

Skills

Document Management: Knowledge of document management; ability to categorize, integrate, update, document and distribute business information in a secure, effective way.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Knowledge of Organization: Knowledge of the organization's vision, structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles, values, and code of ethics; ability to understand the value of aligning capabilities with business goals to support optimal performance.

Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

Project Administration: Knowledge of project administration best practices and ability to use organizational strategies, practices and tools for administering projects.
