Compensation:
$34.00/hr to $38.00/hr depending on experience. Overtime paid at 1.5x over 40 hours.

Job Description / Duties:
HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a major chemical, research, and agriculture organization to place an Emergency Services Technician. This role will take place at a major chemical plant in Freeport, TX. You’ll play a key role in helping to keep our employees safe – and to help in the event of an emergency.
Responsibilities:
• Responding to emergency events on and off site and adhering to the site emergency response priorities by helping provide life safety, incident stabilization, and property conservation. This is done in accordance with the site Emergency Response Standard Operating Guidelines (SOGs).
• Acting as the designated on-scene incident commander for emergency events in accordance with the site Incident Command System (ICS). Emergency events include Fire, HAZMAT, Rescue, and EMS responses.
• Supporting the security services team by conducting security incident response, helping implementing site security rules, assisting with site access according to site entry policies, and helping maintain regulatory compliance.
• Providing advanced level emergency response training to site fire brigade members in the four major disciplines of Fire, EMS, HAZMAT, and Rescue.
• Conducting maintenance, inspections, and ensuring adequate inventory and functionality of department and site emergency response equipment.
• Providing respirator fit testing for employees in accordance with the site respiratory protection program and conducting field audits of Confined Space Entries in accordance with the site Confined Space Entry policy.
Required Skills / Experience:
• Have a current, unencumbered license as a nationally or state certified ECA, EMT, AEMT, or EMT-P, and up to date basic life support/CPR certification.
• Possess or are able to possess a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
• Are competent in the use of basic computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Technical proficiency in firefighting, emergency medical, and rescue skills.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues within and outside of your primary work group.
• Have excellent leadership skills with the ability to lead small and large groups of responders to complete assigned tasks.
Desired Skills / Experience:
• EMT-P or License Paramedic
• TCFP Firefighter 1 & 2 certification
• NFPA 1081 Advanced Exterior Firefighter Certification
• HAZWOPER or TCFP HAZMAT Technician certification
• NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 certifications
• Confined Space / High-angle rescue experience
• Incident Command experience
• Security Experience
• Experience working in a chemical plant or refinery
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
• 40+ hours per week. Will eventually transition to a 4 on / 4 off shift schedule.
• Offer will be contingent upon passing a background check and drug screen (which does include cannabis).
