Position Responsibilities:
- Assists Registered Nurse and physicians with assessments, examinations and treatment
- Performs and assists with technical skills as defined in scope of practice
- Performs duties as in serviced, including crutch walking, dressing changes and assisting physician with splint or cast application
- Assists patients from vehicle into wheelchair or onto gurney, as need dictates
- Documents patient care performed, including vital signs, bedside care and observations
- Maintains and prepares rooms between patients procedures
- Assist with preparation of equipment procedures
- Perform 12 Lead EKG as ordered by physician
- Collect and label specimens accurately as ordered by physician
- Provides catheter care daily and/or as needed
- Reports any pertinent observations to RN
Requirements:
- BLS certification required.
- EMT, Paramedic and/or Medical Assistant license, preferred.
- Education: High School or equivalent. Graduation from a foreign medical and/or Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Up to 3 years of ER Technician experience preferred.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention training within first 3 months of employment.
