Job Summary and Qualifications
Emergency Room Nurse Navigator
The Emergency Department Navigator is responsible for facilitating patient flow through the Emergency Department to provide optimum efficiency of department resources and timely management of patient care. Coordinates with Charge Nurses, physicians, department staff, and nursing supervisors to assure efficient movement of patients into, and out of, the Emergency Department.
What you will do in this role:
- You will collaborate with the ED Director to follow up on patient care issues.
- You will determine the bed placement of EMS and walk-in patients in collaboration with the Charge Nurse/Waiting Room Coordinator.
- You will maintain Team Triage Model to ensure initial assessments are completed, prioritization of patients to appropriate areas, and timely medication administration by clinical staff.
- You will facilitate the movement of patients to appropriate pods and ensure patients are dispositioned timely.
- You will Provide bed assignments for EMS, communicate with the charge nurse
What qualifications you will need:
- Current RN licensure by TN Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state
- American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS certification
- ACLS upon hire
- PALS upon hire
