Responsibilities:
- Attend in person EMT training course in Nashville, TN
- Verification of skills proficiency and achievement of a passing score on the written certification examination.
- Conduct yourself in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner at all times when dealing with patients, co-workers, supervisors and or the public
- Receives call from dispatcher, responds verbally to emergent and non-emergent calls, reads maps, may drive ambulance to emergency site
- Collaborate with your fellow Emergency Medical Technician (EMTs), Paramedics, medical drivers and management to assure top tier patient care.
- Be flexible as emergency services operate on a 24-hour clock - your work schedule may vary due to the nature of the business.
- Remain up to date with current standards of care, including equipment functions and uses and all certifications, licenses and registrations as an Emergency Medical Technician trainee.
- Recognize and treat any medical condition with appropriate techniques, equipment, and knowledge of all state and city protocols (based on competency level).
- Assists in lifting, carrying, and transporting patients to ambulance and on to a medical facility.
- Provide top tier medical transport to medical facilities and hospitals by assuming responsibilities for medical care of the patient and carrying out established policies and procedures as an Emergency Medical Technician trainee (based on competency level)
- Deliver verbal and written reports regarding patients
- Keep the vehicle clean and in good running order throughout the shift
- Maintain stock of supplies and equipment in vehicle
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record (Driver's License a minimum of 2 years)
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 1-year commitment with DocGo after obtaining the EMT Certification
- Ability to lift, carry, and balance up to 125 pounds (250 with assistance)
- Communication skills; customer service experience (preferred)
- Ability to use good judgment and remain calm in high-stress situations
