ResponsibilitiesEmergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Ambulance Provides emergency care at the scene of an accident or other emergency. Responsibilities involve preparation for response, response, delivery of care, transportation, documentation, and post response duties. Attends to patients being transported by ambulance on non-emergency calls and is responsible for the patient's safety en route. Under the supervision of a paramedic, delivery of emergency patient care such as administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation, oxygen and resuscitation with an ambu bag. Also may participate in life safety programs, community awareness programs, and other programs as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired Minimum Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.
Required Minimum Experience: Experience as an EMT highly preferred.Required Minimum Certification: Current certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in the state of Georgia. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) is required. Must possess a valid Class C driver's license. Must complete annual training and CEU requirements. Maintains current AHA CPR certification.Required Minimum Skills: Effective communication skills (verbal and written) required. Demonstrate willingness to be a team-player and a self-starter required. Proficiency obtaining vital signs using manual processes required.
