Embroidery machine / screen printer operator
College students welcome, flex hours – Finest Executive Protection is looking to hire a clerical assistant, with skills as a Embroidery machine / screen printer operator, part time, one or two of the following days a week are available, Monday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, or 1 PM to 6 PM. More hours could be provided, if required by the candidate. When the machine isn't being operated we would want clerical duties to be performed. We are flexible, and can work with those that need flexible hours, but the days are specific at this time. Basic knowledge or willingness to learn how to create invoices using Quickbooks, some data entry, ADP entries, answer phones, make copies, filing, online work, research, and new client outreach. The machine operating skills is relevant to a new project with designing clothes, so an interest in fashion design, urban wear, sportswear, athletic clothing is a plus. Regarding the clerical work, we have a person on site to train the candidate before he/she starts. Additional days, & hours are possible, based on skill set. It could be permanent for a person who has an interest in fashion and can add to this ongoing project. Note: Please state if you have your own embroidery / screen printing equipment and that you want to work remote, or area where the work is required is a residential neighborhood, Queens Village, NY 11429, and the office is within a private residence, which has a separate office with a total of 2 or 3 staff members. Additionally, there are no trains that go to this part of Queens, only buses, so private transportation, walking, city bus, van, or biking, are the only methods available to get to this location. Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain sewing machines to fabricate garments or other textile products
- Set up machines for each sewing operation, including selecting appropriate needles, threads, and other supplies
- Monitor machine operation to ensure proper stitching and quality of finished products
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to keep them in good working condition
- Inspect finished products for defects and make necessary adjustments or repairs
- Follow production schedules and meet daily production targets
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production deadlines
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Machine Operator in a sewing or garment construction environment is preferred
- Proficient in using sewing machines and familiar with different types of stitches
- Knowledge of fabric types and their characteristics
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and follow instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail and quality control skills
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues
