Job Description and Profile:

The Email Marketing Specialist is passionate about building customer loyalty and retention through thoughtful 1:1 customer communication to increase engagement with our brands and reinforce our brand identity. The role is responsible for day-to-day email and SMS implementation, understanding our customer database, and developing and managing our Marketing Content Calendar. The Email Marketing Specialist is analytical and comfortable working with reporting and proactively setting up A/B testing and applying learnings to future campaigns. Requires cross-functional collaboration and platform management. The role is a great opportunity to own a powerful tactic and see immediate results that contribute to the business in so many ways.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Messaging: Writes creative briefs for the development of meaningful creative messaging that drives action and reinforces our brand identity. Creates and manages the Marketing Content Calendar used across multiple touchpoints.
  • Collaboration: Develops and executes email campaigns that can extend to other CRM touchpoints and landing experiences. Identifies new CRM opportunities and ways to engage new customers and win back lapsed customers.
  • Project Management: Manages email implementation and coordinates with stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure data-driven marketing goals. Manages workflow and analyzes new vendors and marketing technologies that would help build needed capabilities and future roadmap.
  • Test & Measure: A/B tests creative formats and offers for optimal performance and customer engagement by brand and customer type. Tracks and monitors results, continuously optimizing the strategy. Creates hold-out groups to determine incrementality.
  • Results: Develops and owns the Email Marketing dashboard. Monitors and analyzes performance to improve file growth, ROI, conversion rates, open rates, and customer KPIs. Develops needed executive-level view of results and socialize performance of programs and ad-hoc requests. Leverages learnings to continue to evolve and optimize targeting and cross-sell/up-sell opportunities. Monitor the competitive landscape.
  • Comfortable implementing email platforms and/or CRM infrastructure (systems, communications) with the intent of automating and personalizing campaigns and enhancing the customer database with preferences and data centralization. Working knowledge of HTML.
  • Growth: Supports the overall marketing team with special projects and testing efforts.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 2+ years of experience driving Email Marketing strategy
  • Experience in multi-channel retail industry a plus
  • Experience building 1:1 customer communications with a strong understanding of creative briefs and experience collaborating with the Creative Teams Skills & Requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Working understanding of email platforms and HTML
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to collaborate on projects cross-functionally
  • Works well independently, is resourceful, and eager to learn
