JOB SUMMARY
Omar D. Blair is seeking Elementary Multilingual Language Learners (MLL) Teachers for the 2024 - 2025 school year. MLL Teachers provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the academic interventions to help them fulfill their potential for academic, intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Successful MLL Elementary Teachers understand the basic subjects taught in grade school and are comfortable teaching English language support classes to grades Kinder through 4th. MLL Teacher duties include developing age-appropriate lesson plans for scholars with different abilities, teaching social skills through guided activities and assessing student assignments and projects. Elementary MLL Teachers support curriculum practices that align with ODB’s culture of connections, management and response, while also meeting state and national academic standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- General qualifications of a teacher as prescribed by the State Department of Education
- Valid Colorado Department of Education Teaching License
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
- Completion of CDE READ Act training
- One year residency, student teaching, or MLL classroom experience preferred
- Provision of personal and professional references
- Pass a background check
- Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND SKILLS
- Support the school’s core values and policies inside and outside the classroom with colleagues, scholars, parents, and the larger community.
- Be receptive and engaged with coaching while modeling high standards of professionalism in all areas of the job.
- Oversee and manage the correct recording of classroom documents, including attendance, incident reports, and documentation of scholar’s progress.
- Support the implementation of school, district and state testing for Multilingual Learners to insure compliance with WIDA and ACCESS testing.
- Consistently collect, track data and perform observations for scholars via Multi-tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS).
- Use MLL data to adapt lessons and instructional practices including re-teaching, spiraling skills and differentiation to track scholar progress in the English language while promoting a culture of learning.
- Regular attendance is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Google Suite, and other schools used softwares.
- Observe all rules and regulations of Omar D. Blair Charter School and the local, state and national regulatory agencies pertaining to the education, health, safety and care of children.
INTERVIEW EXPECTATIONS

COMPENSATION
Paraprofessionals will be placed on the initial compensation scale for this position based on years of experience and education level achieved as demonstrated via service records and transcripts. It is the responsibility of the employee to provide the school with the appropriate, original documents to validate their years of experience and education level.
