NOTICE OF VACANCY
POSITION: Elementary, Middle &High School Summer School Administrative Intern (unpaid internship)
REPORTS TO: Summer School Principal
SUPERVISES: Summer school teachers and support staff
Summer School runs Monday through Thursday from the first week in July through the first week in August. The summer sessionThis internship experience requires some flexibility for planning and preparation prior to the start of Summer School.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Support the principal in providing effective instructional leadership for the district Summer School program.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The administrative intern will support the Summer School principal during all phases of the Summer School program including: designing the instructional program, selecting and hiring staff, organizing and overseeing the Summer School registration process, preparing all official Summer School communications to staff and the community, managing the Summer School budget, working closely with principals, school counselors and district staff to ensure a high quality program that maximizes the student's educational opportunities, and any other duties as assigned by the Summer School principal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid New York State School Certification (teaching, internship and/or administrative).
- Knowledge of educational programming for grades K-4, Summer School experience preferred.
- Minimum of five years successful experience in education, including teaching, supervision and/or administration.
