Elementary Math Instructor

Elementary Math Instructor for the 2023-2024 School Year
We are looking for 4-6 Math Instructors with prior tutoring experience available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday within school hours.

Position: 3rd-4th Grade Math Instructor

This is a contractor position for approximately 7-10 hours per week during daytime hours (12-3 pm) working with 15-25 students during classroom push-in instruction and an average of 3 students in person during small group pull-out instruction.

• Priority timeblocks for availability: 1:30am to 3pm Monday through Friday with a preference for Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
• Location: Camden, NJ. Tutors must travel on-site to this area as well as occasionally to Center City as needed for professional development.
• Start date: December 11, 2023 with flexibility to start as late as January 3, 2024.

Required Qualifications

3rd and 4th Grade Math Instructor

• At least 1 year experience tutoring 1-on-1 or in a small group/classroom setting
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited university or enrollment in a teacher certification program.
• Commitment to tutoring with TEACH for the length of the school year: September - June
• Available to travel locally in the Greater Philadelphia Area for in-person lessons
• Ability to complete federal and PA state background checks and clearances
• A zest for learning and the spark to share and build knowledge with students!

Preferred Qualifications
3rd and 4th Grade Math Instructor

• 2-3 years of experience tutoring or teaching in a 1-on-1, small group, or classroom setting
• Understanding of student-centered learning practices and high-impact tutoring

Tutor Responsibilities

• Prepare engaging lessons and materials to meet student's needs
• Connect with students from diverse backgrounds and educational experiences to maximize their academic potential and to help them achieve their goals
• Communicate with TEACH office staff and parents/guardians to coordinate tutoring lessons and check in about student progress in a punctual manner and with attention to detail
• Submit time-sensitive information using our database and other online documentation
