Pay Range: $23.54-35.06 per hour
Position Summary
Electroneurodiagnostic (END) technology enables health care professionals to record and study the electrical activity of the brain and nervous system. END technologists use a variety of techniques and instruments to record electrical activity arising from a patient's brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and other parts of the nervous system. END technologists work with specially trained physicians who interpret the data and determine treatment based on the information. The END technologist promotes the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Attach electrodes to patients using adhesives for all recording modalities.
  • Summarize technical data to assist physicians to diagnose brain, sleep, or nervous system disorders.
  • Conduct studies such as: electroencephalography (EEG), polysomnography (PSG), and Home Sleep Apnea Testing (HSAT).
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, or repair equipment and correct malfunctions as needed.
  • Use critical thinking and independent judgment with sleep and EGG technology.
  • Collect patient's medical information to customize tests and follow Hospital protocols.
  • Coordinate communication with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Technologist may be required to cover night-time sleep shifts for PTO and sick leave.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited END Technology program leading to a certificate or associate degree is required.
  • Completion of a technology program associated with a State license and/or accredited program OR equivalent experience is required.
  • Visual evoked potentials (EPs) experience is preferred.

Certifications/Licensures
  • Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Board eligible. Iowa licensure will be required within 12 months after hire.
  • Electroencephalographic REEGT or board eligible, complete registry within one year of hire is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) validation or successfully compete BLS course within 3 months of hire is required.
