Position Function
Under supervision, perform duties related to work in electrical/high voltage maintenance, which involves work in excess of 600 volts, complying with appropriate regulations and codes.
Minimum Education
1. High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Minimum Experience
1.Successful completion of an apprenticeship program in Electricity as approved by the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training and two years of post-apprenticeship electrical experience and one year verified proof of experience operating and maintaining energized electrical systems of 4,160 volts or higher, or five (5) years of electrical experience and one (1) of year of operating and maintaining energized electrical systems of 4,160 volts or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable job knowledge can be acquired as determined by Ball State University.
2.Must be able to read and comprehend all specified policies and procedures for safety, hazardous materials information, and University policies, procedures and communications, have basic oral/written communication skills, and perform basic mathematical calculations at the level equivalent to first year high school algebra.
3.Must possess basic computer and spread sheet skills.
4.Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License and be insurable under the university's auto fleet policy..
5.Must be able to perform all mental and physical requirements as outlined in each job duty.
6.Must be able to respond and be on campus within a reasonable time as determined by Ball State University in an emergency situation.
7.You must be 18 years or older.
