Electrician (Power System)

• Ability to do the work of a journey level electrician without more than normal supervision. Journey level is defined as having 4 or more years of directly related work experience OR successfully completing a 4-year apprenticeship training program.

Working Conditions: Requires the ability to safely and efficiently work alone and with others. Work is performed indoors and outdoors with some exposure to inclement weather conditions and walking over varied terrain. Works in the vicinity of energized and high voltage sources and moving equipment. Some work is performed in confined spaces. Works on or near materials that may contain asbestos and Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Subject to exposure to irritation or discomfort from dust, heat, noise, fumes, vapors, and works on hard damp floors or ground. Wears personal protective equipment as required to meet occupational health and safety standards. Subject to wearing a respirator. May be required to travel to remote locations.
Physical Effort: Requires the ability to safely and efficiently perform the physical requirements of the position. Routinely lifts, carries, and moves moderately heavy loads weighing up to 50 pounds, and loads weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance. Nature of work requires the ability to push, pull, bend, reach, walk, stand, kneel, squat, climb scaffolding and ladders, work overhead and at heights.
