We are currently seeking a highly qualified Electrician to join our Maintenance Department located in Nashville, TN. You will be expected to install, service and repair electrical equipment, components and controls within the manufacturing facility to maintain ongoing operations. You are open to working evening shift (10PM to 6:30AM) Your job duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Troubleshooting industrial equipment and devices, inspecting and testing equipment components
- Installing new and repaired equipment components
- Performing preventative maintenance and housekeeping activities
- Interpreting schematics, manuals and specifications to determine procedures, and preparing logs and reports to record work summaries and test results
- Actively and continuously support continuous process improvement initiatives in a team-based environment
Required Qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States and for the Altria family of companies
- Must possess three (3) or more years of experience as Industrial Electrician
- Have preferably completed an apprenticeship or journeyman's card, technical school, equivalent military technical training, or an industrial technology degree
- Have a strong safety orientation
- Be able to work on any shift
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High degree of initiative and conscientiousness
- Ability to help our production teams drive innovation
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to work to code from drawings and manuals in troubleshooting, repairing, installing and/or calibrating electrical equipment and devices such as distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers, motors, sensors, transformers, starters, relays and switches
- Ability to plan the layout and installation of equipment (e.g., motor starters & controls), fixtures (e.g., lighting systems) and wiring (e.g., conduit) based on specifications and codes
- Ability to install and maintain safety systems including emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, uninterruptible power systems, battery systems, and utility communications systems
- Ability to trace and diagnose malfunctions using hand tools and test equipment such as multi-meters
- Demonstrated expertise in the use of cable reels, stripping tools, voltage detectors, crimping tools, and wire and cable cutters
- Experience with 3-phase 240/480 volt power distribution systems
- Candidate must successfully complete and pass the required assessment(s)
