Engineering Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline with a preference for a standing of a sophomore or higher.
Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is generally required.
Responsibilities for this Position
GDMS has an immediate opening for a Systems Integration and Verification Intern to join our Space Avionics and Electronics Solutions Systems Engineering team.

This position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge Space Systems and Technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various GDMS and client technologies. KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:
Systems Engineers design, develop and test GDMS Space systems to ensure the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety and other requirements in the total engineering effort. Additional Responsibilities include formulating operational concepts; performing mission, functional, cost-benefit and risk analysis; selecting systems architecture; and preparing specifications for systems to ensure designs meet customer missions. Systems Engineers work together with Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Software Engineers, as well as many other specializations; the role of Systems Engineering on the team is to ensure that the sum of the individual contributions create the desired end product.
As a Systems Integration and Verification Intern, you will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team working within RSS. Your roles will vary from project to project, but they will include some of the following: Reviewing and Updating Integration and Verification plans and procedures, working with RF test equipment, designing and developing tools for automation of command and control of Unit-Under-Test (UUT) and test equipment, designing and developing tools to analyze UUT results.
WORK SCHEDULE
Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of engineering technology. Engineering Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline with a preference for a standing of a Junior or higher.
As an intern, your schedule will be flexible; especially while you are still in school. You are generally expected to commit 10 to 20 hours per week while in school. Most full-time employees work a 9/80 flexible schedule (9 hour days with every other Friday off) and they also enjoy freedom to work remotely when their role allows for it.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Either Coursework in or demonstrate interest in Digital Signal Processing and/or Communications Systems Engineering (this is what we do!)
Basic scripting in any modern language is strongly preferred (MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or similar)
We are seeking highly motivated engineers who are willing to learn!

Salary Note
This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
Combined Salary Range
USD $27.75 - USD $27.75 /Yr.
