PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
Franklin Electric
The assembler will have a mix of duties including reading electrical schematics for the wiring of panels, cutting holes, and assembling Electrical Panels and boxes. The assembler will not only put these components together but will ultimately take part in the creating of our pump units to be distributed around the world.
Key Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per the Franklin Electric Quality System.
- Responsible for the reading and interpretation of electrical schematics
- Use hand tools to cut, assemble, and piece together electrical boxes and panels
- Troubleshoot and wire electrical wiring between 240v -- 600v depending on the size of the motor
- Responsible for the full assembly of panels
- Utilize lean manufacturing techniques to continuously improve the assembly and production process to hit required quality, throughput, and aesthetic standard set by Franklin Electric
- Operates various workstations to complete assembly of scheduled parts.
- Responsible for the flexing and bending of wire using both hands and tools
- Responsible for the mounting, wiring, and some testing of assembled panels.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Skills and Abilities
- Works with various hand and power tools such as drills, T-squares, hammers, lights, electrical tools, hydraulic/electric punchouts, jigsaws, sanders, screwdrivers, strippers, and crimpers.
- Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Read and lay out electrical schematics
Provides accurate work on a consistent basis meeting precise tolerances and standards.
- Interpersonal skills sufficient to work closely with others on a team.
- Ability to quickly perform basic math and measurements for the cutting and laying out of panels
- Ability to assemble, wire, and produce various electrical products safely, accurately, and with proper aesthetic
- Electrical/Mechanical Aptitude.
- Must have an eye for detail and proper aesthetic, as the product will be displayed to customers
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred).
- 1-5 years of sufficient manufacturing experience (required)
Experience reading electrical schematics (preferred)
- Experience and aptitude using hand tools (required)
- Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement (preferred)

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
- While performing the functions of this job, the employee is:
- Continually required to stand; lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 lbs.; grip with hand/fingers; and turn wrenches, valves, or handles.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, grip, or feel; reach to full extension; bend or twist; and walk.
- Occasionally required to lift, carry, push, or pull more than 100lbs.; ascend or descend stairs, ladders, or ramps; reach above shoulders, and use upper extremities.
- The employee must continually lift or move 10 lbs. using tools.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include occasional peripheral viewing, viewing length changes, close and distance viewing, and accurate depth perception.
- Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the need to perceive the spoken voice clearly and the need to hear warning signals up to 70dbs with or without assistance.
- Specific speech abilities regularly required by this job include comprehensible speech.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position is subjected to harmful environmental conditions and is located in a manufacturing type environment.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- This position is Frequently exposed to extreme heat, vibration, and moving mechanical hazard; and Infrequently exposed to wet/humid conditions.
- This job consists of shift work up to 10 hours per day and may be required to work overtime as needed.
- Respirator fit testing and equipment is provided upon request of the employee.
