Job Description
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
- Responsible for the Electrical Maintenance of all equipment including robotic, PLC equipment and the training of employees on the equipment.
- Responsible for charging and rectification equipment and their respective control functions.
- Will provide assistance for the maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment and control devices used in testing and evaluating batteries.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Is responsible for:
- Understanding and following policies, procedures, and instructions
- Identifying and reporting product, process, and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel.
- Controlling nonconforming products
- Supporting implementation of corrective/preventive and improvement actions
- Proper use of personal protective equipment when required.
- Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures, and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.
- Housekeeping
- Follows all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures including the proper use of personal protective equipment where required.
- Knowledgeable of the design, operation and functional distinctions of battery forming rectifiers.
- Provide Electrical Maintenance on a timely basis so that manufacturing can continue with minimal interruption.
- Troubleshooting, repair and calibration of meters and equipment.
- Troubleshooting, minor repair and minor adjustments of robotic operations.
- Troubleshooting of servo systems and drives.
- Troubleshooting and minor programming adjustments of PLC Ladder logic.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and wire electrical control panels.

Competencies
Good analytical and trouble shooting skills.
Basic technical education including math and physical sciences.
Technical certifications preferred.
Attendance should be kept at 6 points or less.
Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervision, and management.
Ability to listen effectively and follow verbal and written instructions.
Work Environment
This job operates in an industrial plant floor environment. This role routinely uses industrial equipment and tools and works near moving mechanical parts. Seasonally extremely hot. Respirator required as needed. Works in a high lead area.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk for 8-10 hours at a time. Be able to bend, twist and turn.
Use of both hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or tooling; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
The employee must be able to lift or move up to 75 pounds infrequently.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, at minimum of 8-hour shifts. Must be able to work all mandatory overtime as required; this could lead to working weekday and weekend overtime. Must have the ability to work a flexible shift to support the facility. Must have the ability to work an on-call schedule.
Monday-Friday, (Saturday and/or Sunday as needed)
1st Shift – Day shift
2nd Shift – Afternoon shift
3rd Shift – Evening shift
Education and Experience Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- 2-4 years industrial experience and verifiable work history
- Associates degree or certification in industrial electricity/power controls preferred
- Knowledge of DC and AC electrical concepts and equipment, transformers and electrical/robotic safety systems.
- Familiarity with conversion from analog to digital and digital to analog.
- Experience with 3 phase 480v, 150amp AC supply to <1 ma DC control systems.
- Knowledge of 240/480v electrical motor controls. Experience with various Rockwell Software packages (RS500, Factory View Studio, RS5000, etc.)
- Experience with A.B. PLC platforms (SLC 500, Compact Logix, etc.)
- Experience with robot programming a plus.
- Experience with robot programming and servo motors a plus.
