Electrical Helper | Matro Electrical | Hickory, NC

In this role, you will lead a helper in performing assigned duties. May also troubleshoot and repair/replace electrical gear.
Job Responsibilities:
- May perform a variety of functions, such as dig, spread, and level dirt and gravel, using pick and shovel
- Lifts, carries, and holds electrical materials, tools, and supplies
- Cleans tools, equipment, materials, and work areas
- Mixes, pours, and spreads concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials, using hand tools
- Performs a variety of routine, non-machine tasks, such as removing forms from set concrete, installing conduit, constructing electrical racks, hanging electrical panels, pull wire.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a safe work environment
- Perform general maintenance tasks as needed
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma is preferred but not required
- Driver’s License is required
- Electrical experience preferred.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications:
- Follow specific directions and safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
- Perform a variety of duties which may often change
- Work within standards of accuracy
- Repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure and evaluate information using measurable standards
- Previous experience in electrical construction or a related field is preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Knowledge of hand and power tools
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team or solo environment
Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to operate equipment and read application/form information. The employee is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 55 per week
