With terminals operating in space since 2021, and follow-on generations launching this year, we are seeking new engineers to help us scale our product portfolio to new form-factors and orbits.As an Electrical Engineering Technical Lead/Manager you will take ownership of the Electrical Engineering group in our Los Gatos, CA facility. Your hands-on organizational leadership will inspire the group as they take on next generations of Optical Terminals destined for LEO and MEO/GEO orbits. You will own the group’s operational execution, working closely with program management to ensure milestones are consistently met. You will provide design direction, plan program development efforts, lead design reviews and ensure designs are successfully transferred to production within our CA and FL manufacturing facilities.Responsibilities include:Managing a team of talented electrical engineers responsible for high-speed digital, analog/RF, opto-electrical, mechanism control and power electronicsClose collaboration with other group technical leads, ensuring electrical requirements are properly defined and met within aggressive development schedulesOwnership of customer requirements as they drive the electrical designs, as well as authoring and owning of each program’s electrical and firmware development planFostering a team culture of ownership, accountability, and execution to goalsEnsuring substantial simulation, prototyping and design reviews are conducted to minimize design churnAssessing risks, anticipating failures, and planning accordingly The successful candidate will have the following qualifications/experience:BSEE or MSEE in Electrical or Computer Engineering7+ years’ work experience leading complex hardware designs from concept through volume productionExperience leading teams of 7-10 talented electrical engineers and techniciansExperience designing electronics for space environments (thermal, power, radiation, reliability)Hands-on development experience across high-speed digital, analog/RF, mechanism control and power domains.Self-directed, able to analyze, prioritize and resolve issues independentlyThe following qualifications and experience are highly desired but not required:Engineering management background in telecommunication and/or control systemsExperience leading teams responsible for RTL developmentExperience with optics and/or fiber opticsBenefitsCACI Optical and Photonics Systems (West) is in Los Gatos, CA.
