Electrical Engineering and Controls Technician

Position Summary:

Develop, build, and maintain machine controls, along with instrumentation, heating and automation systems.Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic systems for centerless grinders, cutoff equipment, super finishing machines, furnace, and sorting equipment.

Essential Functions:

1. Troubleshoots machine electrical/electronic and induction amplifier problems in existing equipment.

2. Work with various controllers, (e.g., ControlsLogix, SLC 500, Fanuc 35i and PowerMate…) monitor/modify/create PLC/HMI programs for internal use.

3. Read electrical schematic drawings of electrical systems to (1) troubleshoot potential problems, (2) and improve/update electrical control systems currently in use, build new panels and Controls.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Engineering degree or equivalent combination of education,

experience, and technical training, along with minimum of 3 years

experience in:

1. 3 – phase power. Low level, TTL, and CMOS circuitry. Industrial setup and installation.

2. Printed circuit board diagnosis and repair

3. Interfacing and programming industrial controllers and PC computers.

4. Programming experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and GE Fanuc.

5. High frequency power supply and Controls troubleshooting experience.

6. Servo motor drives and Controls experience.

7. Control panel design and building experience.

8. Specification of and ordering of equivalent parts, components, and sub-systems for machine electrical controls.

9. Strong communication, organization, and procedural skills.

10. Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office products.

11. Physical requirements include but are not limited to:

12. Standing in one place for up to an hour or more,

13. Walking could be up to or in excess of 3 miles per day,

14. Climb ladders and stairways,

15. Stooping

16. Bending

17. Sitting

18. Lifting heavy object

Salary info:

$70000 - $72000 / hr
