Position Summary: Electrical Engineer

This position will support the StrongBox Meter and Power Pedestal business as the technical expert on component selection and product design. This Position works closely with sales to identify customer needs and return detailed information for quoting and production. Additionally, this position will be responsible for or involved with new developments in Photovoltaic Power Systems components, continuous improvement of manufacturing processes through automation, plant and equipment electrical specification and troubleshooting as well collaborating with other engineers on design of industrial control panel enclosures.

Position Duties:

• Monitors quote requests and specifies meter/power products and accessories based on information provided by customer
• Leads research and development activities related to new meter/power pedestal products and accessories
• Provides technical support to panel shop on product builds including marking requirements & wiring diagrams
• Prepares technical drawings & specifications of electrical systems
• Reviews defect reports and assists with root cause determination and corrective actions
• Works with sales to develop new markets and customers to grow the meter/power pedestal product line
• Confer with engineers, customers, or others to discuss engineering projects or products
• Provide specifications for purchases of materials or equipment
• Involved in facility electrical specification and documentation across multiple sites
• Helps troubleshoot power and controls issues with existing plant equipment
• Takes part in specification of automated equipment and its integration into manufacturing operations

Position Skills:

• Working knowledge of single and multiphase phase power and control circuits
• Able to read and accurately interpret electrical schematics and panel schedules
• Proficiency in AutoCAD creating 2D component drawings and electrical schematics
• Familiarity with 3D modelling in SolidWorks
• Knowledge in NFPA 70 National Electrical Code
• Familiarity with UL 508A is a plus
• Familiarity with machine automation and controls
• Ability to do basic PC/PLC programming is a plus
• Solid communication and collaboration skills are a must

Position Qualifications:

Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, or closely related field

3 - 5 years’ experience 

Software Expertise (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, & MS office software applications)
