- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum ten (10) years of hands-on R&D experience in mission critical electrical power components and systems including concept formulation, detailed design, modeling/simulation, prototyping, verification/validation testing and deployment for sustained operations.
- Cross-disciplinary knowledge of data center electrical systems design and operation: high voltage distribution (substation) design, medium and low voltage distribution, backup power (generators), energy storage systems
- Experience in electrical power simulation software - e.g. ETAP, PSSE, PSCAD, Matlab/Simulink power systems toolboxes
- Experience with electric power industry standards, building codes and safety standards including NEC, NETA, ANSI, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, UL, UFC and UBC
- Experience in scoping and managing research projects using systematic R&D life cycle - requirements, risks, verification/validation plans, design and business reviews
- Experience in troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Effective presentation and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering - MS, PhD
- Professional Engineer registration
- Experience in electrical power systems reliability modeling, statistical analyses, and data science techniques
- Familiarity with cost estimating methodologies to establish business cases for R&D projects - e.g. Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), ROI, etc.
- Design and operation experience with large and complex data center power and associated control systems
- Working knowledge of the data center technology stack: computer, network, storage, and software architectures
- Design and operation experience with large and complex data centers, including campus systems
