Overview:
Our client was founded in 1987 and over the past several decades has designed electrical power, lighting, life safety and communication systems for nearly every type of commercial, industrial and information technology building. They have specifically developed a strong track record for the design, commissioning, and planning of highly complex mission-critical data center critical infrastructure. They currently have a job opportunity for an experienced Professional Electrical Engineer to be an integral member of their data center design team. The scope of work will include the design of critical power systems, load calculations, preparation of technical reports, documents and arc flash studies. In addition, there will be coordination with company staff, clients, vendors, and external disciplines. Travel to job sites may be required for site observations and client meetings.
What you will be doing:
Responsible for designing electrical systems and performing design calculations.
Review, signing and sealing of projects.
Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, preparation of record drawings, site visits, inspections and participation in commissioning work
Writing and editing of electrical equipment specifications, selecting equipment, electrical systems and devices
Ensure jobs are completed accurately, within deadlines and on budget.

What you must have:
5-10+ years of Professional Electrical Engineering design experience in the construction industry
Must hold a valid Electrical P.E. license and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering ( (will consider Engineering in Training certification)
Experience designing critical power systems for data centers or other mission critical projects
Experience working independently, managing priorities and providing mentorship to junior staff
Strong understanding of National and International Building Codes and NFPA Standards.
Advanced knowledge of equipment power requirements, including large scale standby and emergency power system, including interactive generator controls systems.
Experienced in producing Protective Device Coordination and Arc Flash studies is preferred
Experienced with Medium Voltage equipment selection and specifications is preferred
Ability to think strategically and demonstrate flexibility in order to achieve long-range objectives
Self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to work as a team
Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM and Revit
