Electrical Engineer IV
We are searching for a Electrical Engineer to support our team in the Los Alamos, NM area. This position will serve as a subject matter expert for a nuclear facility Electrical Engineering matters, including all aspects of electrical safety, power quality, power monitoring, and critical power reliability/redundancy issues. Often in this role, engineers will perform engineering studies including short circuit, device coordination, equipment sizing, exterior lighting, fault current, and arch flash for both medium and low voltage equipment. Electrical Engineers in this position will work alongside junior engineers (e.g., fire, protection, structural, mechanical, and electrical) and other senior engineers in team settings to complete collaborative full-system design solutions through mentoring, calculations, and leadership. This position is on-site and a 4/10 schedule.
Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge of new and existing non-reactor facility Electrical Engineering systems and calculations, applications engineering methods, and application of computer-aided engineering tools to solve operations-based engineering problems.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering work, planning, construction and control methods.
- Advanced knowledge of industry, regulatory, or national codes and standards including IBC, NEC, IEEE, and NFPA 70E.
- Advanced knowledge of Engineering principles and procedures, design guides, appropriate standards, and administrative practices.
- Advanced knowledge of project and process engineering practices.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and 12 years of related experience.
