Johnson & Johnson, Robotics and Digital Solutions (RAD) group is recruiting for an Electrical Engineering Intern located in Santa Clara, CA, for the Summer 2024 term.
Johnson & Johnson is redefining medical intervention by combining advancements in medical robotics, instrumentation, navigation and data science. We are building a platform technology capable of expanding the applicability of robotics to a spectrum of medical procedures.
Overview
Johnson & Johnson is seeking a highly motivated individual who is a self-starter and is passionate about electrical design for sophisticated and complex robotic systems.
This position places an emphasis on working closely with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to develop sophisticated hardware designs. Candidates must be self-motivated, independent and have an eagerness to learn and work as a team, and a desire to thrive in an exciting environment. You are expected to demonstrate sophisticated Electrical Engineering knowledge, be able to independently resolve approaches to difficult technical problems, and have communication capabilities vital to communicate broadly across engineering teams.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Assist Electrical Engineering staff with circuit design & simulation tasks
- Facilitate electronics bring-up, test, and debug of newly designed electrical hardware
- Participate in lab work activities such as prototype build or soldering tasks
- Communicate status to the assigned mentors and managers
- Currently enrolled into an accredited BS/MS/PhD Electrical Engineering program, including Summer 2024 (Targeted Intern term)
- Completion of basic set of Electrical Engineering circuit design courses
- Experience in design of electronics from college projects or other intern experiences is desired
- Passion for all things electronics, robotics and hands on work in the lab
- Passion for learning
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required
- Ability to work permanently in the US. (visa sponsorship is NOT available for this positon)
- Prior internship or Co-op experience recommended
- Robotics or medical device experience preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have work authorization in the United States at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
