About the role:
WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Duluth, GA. This role is responsible for defining, creating and verifying the electrical design of custom built motors, as requested by the WEC Energy team, to guarantee that the defined electrical design is in accordance with Industry and WEG Standards and that the machine performs for the required application.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, create and verify the Electrical design of Custom built motors as requested by the WEC Energy team.
- Perform additional electrical calculations, as necessary, to confirm motor electrical design suitability as requested by WEC Energy team.
- Evaluate requests listed on customers and/or WEG documents.
- Evaluate previous electrical designs, Components and test reports to be used as base for the design of new machines
- Evaluate and understand technical drawings related to the motors electrical design, i.e., Coil Heads connections, Stator and Rotor Drawings, etc.
- Evaluate and aprove/reject documents submitted by third parties.
- Issue, verify, support and/or revise documents for customers.
- Represent WEC Energy in meetings with Customers and Engineering Companies.
- Create/update Standard Operation Procedures for the performed activities and/or WEG internal Standards.
- Create and present training sessions for WEC teams, Customers and Engineering Companies.
- Evaluate and create suggestions for costs and product improvement and also to improve productivity.
- Support the creation/updating of technical documents / Marketing material.
- Perform benchmark between WEG products and competitors.
- Participate onm Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Knowledge / training:
- Previous experience in Electric motors electrical design.
Experience:
- 3-5 years relevant experience.
