Electrical Engineer - Electric Drives

RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking an Entry-Level to Experienced candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility.

Electrical Engineer - Electric Drives

This position is associated with the development and testing of vehicle electrification systems on construction equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine level testing, simulation and analysis activities to ensure that customer needs are being met with our electric drive equipment.
• Perform and analyze data from development tests performed in the Electric Drives lab.
• Participate in cross functional teams to further the advancement of electric drive technologies at the construction and forestry division
• Participate in component development projects to ensure customer requirements are being met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 1 or more years of previous engineering experience performing analysis, testing and/or design work for a defined portion of a project or equivalent
• Knowledge of electric drive systems and their operating principles
• A strong desire and ability to learn new subject matters and technologies
• Excellent communication skills and leadership potential
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%

Desired Attributes

• Experience developing control algorithms in a model-based platform.
• Analytical experience in electro-magnetic principals and power electronic controls
• Experience with embedded software development
• Experience utilizing SAEJ1939 interfacing tools or other vehicle controller interfaces
• Experience with off-highway equipment
