This role is with Amazon Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging which designs custom packaging automation, conveyance and sortation solutions for large-scale deployment in Amazon's fulfillment network. We build the Robotics solutions that enable the efficiencies that customers have come to expect from Amazon's retail business. We focus on safety, speed of delivery, optimization and value. Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Engineer to design and implement electrical systems for power and signal distribution. You will work closely with hardware and controls engineers to create and document industrial electrical architectures for our custom automation systems. You are familiar with safety and compliance standards for electrical systems that used in industrial buildings, such electrical panel cabinets and NEC electrical code. This candidate must have the ability to work well both independently and in team settings, and have a high standard for execution.
A day in the life
As a Electrical Engineer, you will:
Work with interdisciplinary teams to architect and execute electrical designs from concept to production, including prototyping, validation, testing, and certification.
Architecture and design of industrial electrical systems and work closely with the Controls team.
Write and develop functional specifications, design verification plans and test procedures.
Support product release to manufacturing and customer deployments.
Establish development processes to meet industry standards for functionally safe control systems (IEC 61508).
Travel to development sites to troubleshoot issues.
