Position Summary:
The Electrical Drafter prepares technical drawings of wiring systems and electrical equipment, such as panels. The drafter applies their knowledge to the electrical system design to relate technical specifications, drawings, instructions, arrangements and installation procedures to the basic design intent provided by the electrical controls engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineers to create P&ID, schematics and panel drawing sets
- Integrate written and verbal communications into the design and manufacturing drawings
- Prepare finished drawings and distribute as required
- Examine engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications
- Provide timely technical assistance and solutions
- Specify Basic Control Panel Components for purchasing purposes
- Check out Electrical Panels
- Prepare engineering documents for customer submittal
- Complete timesheets to track drawing hour requirements
- Update and maintain drafting records as required
Qualifications/Skills:
- Associate’s degree in CADD or Electronics Engineering Technology
- Proficient in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical drafting software, preferred
- Aptitude to read and understand engineering drawings
- Ability to create complete manufacturing drawing sets, wiring schematics, interconnection diagrams and panel drawings.
- Create Combustion System Piping Schematics under the general direction of the Combustion Engineer
- Highly flexible with strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to achieve tight deadlines
- A self-starter with the ability to plan and prioritize work and manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Very detailed oriented with a high attention to accuracy
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence cross functionally
- Takes responsibility and is accountable for expectations and actions
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Reader
