Electrical Drafter

Job Description Summary:
The Electrical Drafter is responsible for production of installation drawings associated with utility scale renewable energy projects.

• Position Responsibilities and Duties:
• Electrical System Installation Drawings
  
  • Collaborate with SOLV Engineering, Constructability Manager, Field Operations, and Field Installation teams, along with the electrical, structural, and civil engineers of record, to develop detailed installation drawings for utility-scale solar projects.
  • Prepare detailed electrical installation drawings, details, and schematics using AutoCAD and other relevant software.
  • Provide project specific installation drawing details including, but not limited to,
    
    • Inverter Equipment Skid details
    • Conduit details
    • String Wire Management details
    • DC Feeder Wire Management details
    • Load Break Disconnect Box details
    • Fiber Optic Cable Routing details
    • Field Network Enclosure details
    • Grounding details
  • Create related technical documents, such as material lists and installation instructions
• QA/QC
  
  • Know and understand project design requirements (SOLV requirements, owner & contract requirements, and permit requirements).
  • Perform quality control checks to verify that designs and installation drawings meet project requirements as well as company standards for safety, reliability, and efficiency.
• Collaboration and Communication
  
  • Work closely with cross-function teams including internal and external engineers, estimators, constructability managers, pre-construction project managers, procurement specialists, and construction teams to provide technical support and resolve design-related issues.
  • Communicate effectively with pre-construction project managers, Independent Engineers (IEs), constructability managers, vendors, and other stakeholders to address design inquires and update project designs.
  • Collaborate with vendors and outside engineers to coordinate and integrate product-specific design criteria.

• Proficient with CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks.
• Electrical construction drafting experience preferred
• 3D drafting/modeling experience preferred
• Working knowledge of applicable building codes and requirements preferred
• Ability to read and understand civil/electrical/structural plans
• Detailed oriented
• Strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously
• Effective organizational skills
• High aptitude for problem solving and critical thinking
• Strong sense of urgency

$25.41 - $38.06
