SKA Consulting Engineers, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join our Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection (MEPFP) team located at our headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina.

In this position, the Electrical Designer will be responsible for producing high quality, cost-effective construction documents to convey the scope of work utilizing construction document delivery software, such as AutoCAD and Revit.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree with (8) eight to (10) ten years of related electrical drafting and modeling experience using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Knowledge of construction practices, terminology, materials, and codes.
- Experience drawing electrical building systems (lighting, power, low voltage, and fire alarm distribution systems) is desired. Ability to design and/or specify systems a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Knowledge of Visual software preferred.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam a plus
- Strong communication skills (oral and written).
- Exceptional customer service, and interpersonal skills, creative and effective problem-solving skills, strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and productively on projects with periodic instruction and review from an engineer. Ability to work within time constraints; must be able to adapt to changing demands and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Generates creative solutions; translates concepts and information into images; uses feedback to modify and apply design principles and demonstrates a high level of attention to detail.
- Assist in performing calculations.
- Research construction materials and installation procedures.
- Coordinate and communicate with team and project leader along with external consultants, contractors, clients, and other SKA disciplines.
- Performs periodic jobsite visits to gather existing condition information, take field measurements, conduct field testing, collect data, etc.
