S.E.A. America Inc. is a member of the S.E.A. Group, headquartered in South Korea. As a company of experts for wet-chemical surface treatment S.E.A. is engaged in photovoltaic, semiconductor, PCB, and glass industries. S.E.A. builds high-end production machines that can treat various substrates – as they are used in the mass production of solar cells, glass panels, and semiconductor devices – with chemistries for cleaning, etching or electrochemical deposition. With manufacturing locations in South Korea and Malaysia and worldwide Service locations in US, Europe, India, and Southeast Asia we are an expanding global group and are looking for motivated people joining us in a highly future oriented technology field.
The key responsibility of the on-site Controls Engineer is to support one of our key clients with installation, maintenance, and repair of S.E.A.’s machinery and retrofits, specializing in the Electrical Controls aspect. This is a hands-on, mechanical servicing and technically involved position, ideal for candidates who are mechanically inclined, technically adept, and enjoy working with their hands. This is NOT an office or remote work eligible position.
Expected start date for this position is mid-November.
Responsibilities
- Installation and maintenance of S.E.A. machinery and/or retrofits on-site at our client location in Covington, GA
- Operating, maintaining, and programming computers used to control manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of our machinery.
- Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of control systems.
- Identify shortcomings that could be opened by automation.
- Tracking and reporting machinery performance.
- Inspect systems to ensure they meet safety regulations.
- Recommendation, development, and execution of action plans to optimize the availability and performance of our machinery.
- Provide technical support and advice for our customers.
- Acting as interface between S.E.A. management and our customers.
- Expediently escalate issues to supporting resources when necessary.
- Work with project management, customer, and field engineers in isolating and solving problems.
- Answer customer questions and assist customers in a professional manner.
- Perform administrative and coordination duties, including pass-downs, work orders, field service reports, system problem reports, and monthly reports.
- Provide appropriate support and assistance to less experienced personnel, as necessary.
- Provide on-call day-time support according to company’s on-call schedule, rotating among the technical support team
- Provide field service support to other S.E.A. client’s locations (up to 20%)
- Adhere to clean room policies in work environment.
Required Skills
- Excellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
- Familiarity with Siemens and Allan Bradley PLCs.
- AutoCAD skills.
- Mechanical, technical, and electrical maintenance aptitude and experience in an industrial environment.
- Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding and ever-changing environment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Understand and use of safe work practices, valid OSHA 10 General Industry preferred.
- Time management skills, ability to work to deadlines.
- Clear and effective English verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.
- Willingness to continue learning and growing in a professional environment.
- Ability to train and mentor engineers and customer employees. (To be considered for upper level hiring opportunities of this position.)
Education & Experience
- Associate’s degree, technical college completion, vocational school training, or other relevant education in applicable field of expertise, or equivalent job experience. Electrical engineering background preferred.
- 3+ years of relevant experience required. Experience in Semiconductor clean room operations ideal.
- Mechanical aptitude required. Knowledge of robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, and relevant software preferred.
- Demonstrated experience using computer applications, including data analysis tools, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.

- Standard work hours – Monday through Friday, 8-10 hours each day. Additional hours as project requires.
- Travel up to 20% of the time, dependent on company needs, and may include international travel for training on S.E.A.’s products and processes.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds in weight unaided.
- Work is often conducted at a customer site and requires familiarization with customer rules and policies regarding worksite behavior and safety.
- This customer site requires work in a clean room environment. Strict policies regarding entrance to and work within a clean room environment are in place and must be followed.
- Clean room requires wearing bunny suit, booties, hood, mask, and gloves while working in a tightly controlled environment.
- Expect to spend more than 50% of the time inside the factory working with S.E.A. equipment.
- Position works under the direction of a manager, and in close alignment with Field Service Site Lead.
- Driver's License and passport or ability to obtain passport in a timely manner required for this position.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- 40+ hours weekly, as projects require
Pay
- Annual Salary: $75,500 - $85,500+ DOE
- Generous annual bonus program
- Bi-weekly direct deposit via ADP.
