The Electrical Controls Engineer for ID Technology contributes to the success of the company by developing new electrical designs for printed circuit boards and related electrical components. The position reports to the Vice President of Engineering.  In this role you will...

  • Develop technical schematics for printed circuit boards (PCB’s) and microcontrollers
  • Develop and maintain electronic system designs, schematics, and BOMs
  • Design electrical components that meet or exceed all industry safety standards and facilitate reliable operation of industrial equipment
  • Manage electronic components through life-cycle of product, including field upgrades and obsolescence
  • Program and maintain / Low level software / RTOS /  embedded / bare metal / FPGA
  • Develop controls programs for efficient and safe operation of equipment
  • Assess errors and inconsistencies in electrical designs and make necessary adjustments to ensure safe and reliable operation
  • Evaluate and recommend specific hardware components to be used on any given project
  • Communicate effectively with design engineers and other key stakeholders
  • Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in electrical engineering related work required
  • Demonstrated electrical design skills using ECAD / EDA software (e.g. KiCAD) to design electrical layouts, PCB design, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant programming languages (E.g. C++, C#)
  • Capable with computer software applications including MS Office
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, documentation, and computer skills
  • Must be self-directed and resourceful, detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Must be flexible to accept assignments in support of overall goals
  • Must be able to influence individuals with and without supervisory authority and motivate others within an extended project team that includes outside contractors and vendors
