Electrical Assembly
Key Job Elements:
The Electrical Assembly Technician assembles and installs electrical control panel assemblies, conduit runs, and performs device wiring. The Electrical Assemble is responsible for assembling and wiring electrical components and devices according to provided schematics and established standards. The successful candidate will have knowledge of EMT and Rigid conduit installation and be skilled in using electric or air powered tools to drill, grind, and fit parts together to form a final assembly.
Responsibilities:
The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities that are expected of the manufacturing assembly position; however, additional duties may be assigned, as required.
- Wire panel devices according to provided electrical schematics
- Route and bundle wires and cables neatly and according to established electrical standards
- Check work to ensure error-free products
- Keep red-lines of any changes required during manufacturing and turn in to supervisor on completion of the project
- Maintain a neat, tidy and safe workplace
- Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists
- Gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials
- Repair and rework assemblies and machines as needed
- Prepare trade show equipment and display for shipping
- Control Panel assembly and wiring
- Machine electrical wiring and troubleshooting
- Position component parts according to material and blue print lists
- Assembly includes an electrical wiring task whereby it is necessary to stand, sit, bend, and assume various positions throughout the day
- Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements
- Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening parts and subassemblies
- Verify specifications by measuring completed components
- Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications and notifying manager to obtain additional resources
- Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements and troubleshooting malfunctions
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipate needed supplies, and place and expedite orders for supplies
- Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
- Document actions by completing production and quality forms
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Education/Requirements:
- 2-year technical degree or related field preferred.
- Experience in electrical wiring in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, or wire diagrams.
- Must have experience running electrical conduit.
- Experience in wiring electrical products.
- Experience in industrial panel fabrication and testing.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, move, and handle up to 50 pounds in all directions.
- Ability to stand and walk for an extended period.
- Constantly operate machinery and/or tools.
- Must be able to ascend/descend ladders.
- Must be able to work in shop environment during cold and hot weather conditions.
