Position Summary
A fast-growing company in the Commercial Vehicle sector is looking for an ElectricDrivetrain Engineering Manager with a passion for equipment design and a proven track record of successfully implementing designs in the mobile equipment market.
Position Responsibilities
- Lead the drivetrain team responsible for design, development, integration, and implementation of inverter, traction motor, gearbox and all other e-Drive auxiliary systems and components from concept to production
- Define objectives, metrics, and key results in the development of e-Drive systems from concept to required maturity level, including the technical management of cross-functional teams
- Define e-Drive systems required controls and diagnosis logics to be implemented by the controls team
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to innovate, assess tradeoffs, and converge on a reliable solution and use their expertise in their area of expertise to make sure this multidisciplinary system meets its targets in each of the disciplines involved
- Work closely with and manage suppliers to ensure all design and performance requirements are specified and achieved
- Resolve product issues throughout the product development life cycle via systematic root causing and solution validation
- Develop testing plans to validate drivetrain components
- Develop inverter and motor performance prediction models
- Define and support verification tests to compare experimental and simulation results
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies related to e-Drive systems and components, and identify opportunities for improvement, innovation, and new business opportunities
- Define interface requirements for all the systems interacting with the e-Drive including, battery, thermal, electrical, mechanical, etc.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Competent in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Powerpoint
- Problem solver – adept at troubleshooting and resolving issues
- Knowledge and/or experience in the vehicle or heavy mobile equipment industry required
Ideal Candidates Will Also Have
- Masters’ degree in Engineering
- Experience working in Complex Product Development
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor
- Experience in model based design, Matlab, Simulink, etc.
