Job Description
Main Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair equipment such as flow meters, control valves, motors , VFD"s, and other various electrical equipment;
Specify, order and install electrical equipment (directly or through outside contractors);
Proceed to the verification of equipment, system and process;
Manage all contractors to perform jobs on time, on budget and with high quality standards;
Provide recommendations for improvements and problem resolutions;
Work and communicate with corporate as needed on projects and implementation of standards at local level;
Document electrical changes or modifications made in the field and communicate via drawing revision;
Follow all safety rules and maintain a clean safe working environment;
Perform all work in accordance with applicable safety procedures;
Work to improve the facility at best in class level of operation and as a leader in the industry.
Job includes working outside in a 15 acres facility during summer and winter conditions;
Climbing stairs, using man lifts and working in elevated areas is required;
Possibility to be exposed to potentially dangerous environment;
Must be available to work emergency service and shift work as required
Skills:
1. Familiarity with 4-20mA communication
2. Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) of various brands
3. Knowledge of principal measuring instruments (temperature, level, Flow meters, Pressure, DP Cell, Radar)
4. Comfortable with Pneumatic Instruments (an asset)
5. Familiarity with various Communication Networks (ethernet, as-i, Modbus, Hart, Control-net/Device Net)
6. Knowledge of Electricity/electrical circuits under 600V
7. Strong comprehension of P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) and electrical drawings
Electrical Technology or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar proven hands on industrial experience;
Previous experience in manufacturing/industrial environment is preferred;
Ability to read and create electrical drawings, ;
Understanding of 480 volt-3 phase power, lower voltage instrumentation and AB PLC"s in an industrial environment;
Experience in trouble shooting relay logic, ladder logic, and control system input/output signals;
Maintenance skills with electronic equipment involving instrumentation. AC motors, PLC"s, VFD Drives, and Analog and Digital Circuits;
Basic electrical repair and maintenance skills are a must.
