JOB SUMMARY
The Apprentice Greenskeeper under the direction of the Grounds Supervisor will participate in all activities related to the care and maintenance of the golf course, grounds, and equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Participates in regular course and grounds maintenance.
- Participate in the planting, fertilizing and care of turf, plants, shrubs, and trees on the golf course and grounds.
- Maintains company standards including the quality and cleanliness standards including, but not limited to, employee hygiene and uniforms, equipment repair areas, equipment storage areas, chemical and fertilizer storage areas, receiving areas, washing areas, lunchroom areas, restrooms.
- Operates equipment in a safe manner under the guidance of the Grounds Supervisor while following Company safety guidelines to prevent damage to the equipment, the property, guests, and self.
- Perform other duties as appropriate.

Equipment to Be Used
- String Trimmers, Mowing equipment, Rollers, Hand tools (shovels, rakes, tampers, cup cutters), utility vehicles including golf carts, backpack blowers, mechanical bunker rakes
Physical & Mental Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear; frequently required to use hands to fingers, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms; frequently required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs repetitively.
- Must be able to resolve problems and handle conflict.
Work Environment
- Daily exposure to direct sunlight, high humidity, extremes of heat and cold, noise, paint, and other exposures associated with the golf course environment.
- The work environment may involve varying conditions and circumstances with guests, staff, visitors, government agencies, etc.
