Graduate Student Sr. Environmental Health and Safety Specialist
We are looking for an exceptional Sr. Environmental Health and Safety Specialist who can...

  • Assist in development, coordination, and the implementation of the corporate policies regarding EHS
  • Provides technical support and information in the development of key metrics and objectives for EHS
  • Interact with the various local, state and federal agencies such as OSHA, DEP, EPA, Insurance carriers, Local Fire/Police, and many others for permitting and inspection requirements
  • Chair the Safety Committee each month and coordinate with members to complete action items
  • Train employees on company policies and regulations pertaining to employee safety
  • Leads incident investigations and root cause corrective action plans and corrective action implementation
  • Performs proactive safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and assists in consolidating hazardous wastes.
  • Review plans for operational projects, equipment installation, etc. Determine compliance with safety, security and environmental requirements
  • Works directly with first line supervision and management to implement the EHS Program in an effective manner

  • Enrolled in a Master's or PhD Degree program in Environmental Health and Safety or relevant majors with an expected graduation date between December 2024-May 2025
  • Demonstrate understanding of health and safety functions within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations
  • Environmental or OSHA related training such as HAZWOPER, GHS, etc.
  • 3-5 years of experience in EHS field

Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Pay Range: $18.00 to $33.00 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
Benefits: MKS offers a benefits package for interns/co-ops working at least 20 hours per week, including 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 paid vacation days accrued on a biweekly basis.
