EHS Senior Specialist
This position reports into EHS Manager and is based at the Skillman NJ location.

What You Will Do
Under the direction of the Manager, EH&S, this candidate will be responsible for leading the Safety and Industrial Hygiene compliance programs for the Kenvue World Headquarters located in Skillman, NJ, and in the near future moving to Summit, NJ!

Key Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and support as the lead safety & industrial hygiene resource servicing the J&J Consumer Health facility in Skillman, NJ (and once the new HQ is finished in Summit, NJ) with a primary focus on R&D operations.
• Assess EH&S hazards, risks and compliance and use results from these assessments/audits to recommend appropriate controls/corrective actions.
• Manage the following safety and industrial hygiene programs: Chemical Management, Biosafety, Non-Ionizing Radiation, Machine Safety, Electrical Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, Ergonomics, Powered Industrial Vehicles, Fall Prevention, Fire and Explosion/Life Safety, Noise and Hearing Conservation, Occupational Safety (mold, asbestos, etc.), Medical Surveillance, Training (development & delivery) and Respiratory Protection.
• Monitor the progress of the management action plan, providing leadership, technical support, and professional expertise to ensure corporate and site goals are met; assure all records are properly maintained and reports are prepared/submitted in a timely manner.
• Ability to prepare EH&S permit applications and negotiate conditions. This individual will understand applicable federal, state, and local EHS laws and regulations, standards, codes, and guidelines and interpret requirements to client groups.
• Monitor and evaluate EH&S risks of operations, including proactive management of change ensuring continuous improvement of the EH&S program to make it leaner and more efficient.
• Provide site leadership with ongoing consultation/communication pertaining to EH&S regulations identifying the impacts of changes to regulations on key business objectives.
• Develop, support, and facilitate site EH&S committees/teams to ensure implementation of the EH&S programs.
• Develop EH&S objectives for assigned programs - auditing, analyzing, documenting, and reporting on their implementation and efficiency to management via dashboards & reports.
• Monitors and investigates organizational and/or workplace hazards to people and property.
• Research health and safety policies and programs.
• Ensures that workplace conditions follow federal, state, local, and company regulations. Includes site policies and procedures.
• Facilitates compliance audits, conducts risk assessments, and actively participates in health/safety or emergency response teams.
• Reviews hazard assessments and identifies areas for improvement.
• Prepares organizational or site training materials on new regulations and safety standards. Participates in external audits or inspections that are moderately complex.
• For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all company guidelines related to EH&S practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required in Environmental Science, Engineering or another Technical Field. Certifications- CIH, CSP- preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of EHS experience.
• Knowledge of USEPA, NJDEP, and OSHA regulations.
• Technical experience in diverse EHS areas including but not limited to risk assessment, industrial hygiene, chemical management (laboratory environment), and occupational and contractor/construction safety is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated project management skills are required and individual must have technical/solid understanding of federal, state, and local regulations.
• Engaging associates & local, state & federal inspectors.
• Experience is required in identifying, evaluating, and controlling EHS risks in the workplace.
• Ability to quickly interpret sophisticated regulatory issues and provide recommended course of action.
• Experience in leading change to individual and interpersonal behavior impacting EHS results.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Creativity to anticipate customer needs and develop resourceful solutions to meet needs with limited resources.
• Strong communication (written & verbal), problem-solving, influence, organizing, and time management skills.
Desired Skills:
• EH&S management systems, including ISO 14001 is preferred.
• Good interpersonal skills to achieve effective solution with multiple teams and partners.
• Develop training curricula and materials and deliver training for EH&S programs.

• The anticipated base pay range for this role is ($88,000 to $142,600)
