Overview:

Position Summary


This position will provide direction and assistance regarding technical safety and health support for Centerline. The EH&S Coordinator will work with executives, directors, and managers to establish and enforce processes that will protect employer property and keep employees safe. This role will be responsible for managing the corporate Worker’s Compensation program and liaising with internal, external points of contact and employees in the execution of this responsibility. The EH&S Coordinator will provide administrative support to the VP of EH&S regarding recordkeeping, and various administrative tasks associated with the health and safety programs.

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and perform as the point of contact for the Centerline’s Corporate Risk Management program with regards to Worker’s Compensation using independent judgment and discretion.
  • Manage accountabilities in the administration of first- and third-party worker's compensation This role manages domestic claim management strategies critical to the organization's success.
  • Manage litigated and moderately complex claims and is entrusted with significant settlement authority.
  • Review, coordinate, and ensure the timely submission of Workers’ Compensation claims & paperwork on behalf of injured Assist team members in filling out proper paperwork. Partner with Human Resources regarding Workers Compensation tracking, Light Duty and Return to work certifications.
  • Develop, review and analyze reports and findings to monitor performance and detect trends related to health and safety.
  • Routinely collect and review data throughout the year regarding safety performance. Ensure that the OSHA300 log of occupational injuries and illnesses is Ensure the posting of the annual summary from February 1st through April 30th at each work location.
  • Review and revise Field and Safety Manual (FSM) on an as needed basis.
  • Document safety compliance and other specific safety training by assuring that attendee sign-in sheets or similar records are on file.
  • Manage the EH&S Department’s Document Control
  • Own and manage the EH&S Website
  • Maintain a monthly compliance database to ensure safety documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Ensure the company’s safety and risk management programs are appropriately modified to comply with individual state and/or local requirements.
  • Prepare and disseminate company-wide corporate communications for the EH&S Team
  • Understanding operationalize programs, policies, and procedures for: reporting, investigation, analysis, and the delivery of claim information.
  • Understand and communicate claims management philosophy and strategy to Human Resources, Legal and EH&S management.
  • Build, maintain, and manage relationships with claims adjusters, insurers, outside legal counsel, and other claims related parties.
  • Ensure external reporting requirements are Operationalize the design, analysis and delivery of claim information which influences risk management behavior through performance metrics and benchmarking.
  • Perform as the point of contact when a drug screen is needed for post-accident or reasonable cause matters. Maintain confidentiality of screening results.
  • Work with vendors/laboratories that provide the company(s) with testing and physical evaluation
  • Maintain required safety and health documents/files.
  • Disseminate information from EH&S (Policies, Guidelines, Safety Notes).

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a safety or medically related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of environmental health and/or safety experience with experience overseeing worker’s compensation claims is required. Experience may be substituted for education.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a full-time, Exempt position.
  • Days of work are: Monday through Friday. Some evenings required.
Travel:
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company insurance policy.
  • This position may require local travel. Approximately 10+% travel
Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
