Wise Path Recovery Centers - Morgantown WV (in partnership with Ascension Recovery Services) is in search of a mission driven, high energy experienced, Senior Admissions Coordinator, with experience in healthcare, ideally in addiction medicine admissions, to join our team!
The Senior Admissions Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the admission process is as accessible, accommodating, and seamless as possible for clients, family members and referents; admissions may be initiated in-person or via telephone. The position works closely with the facility’s leadership and clinical team to ensure that admissions to the program are clinically appropriate.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Conduct initial in-person or telephone screening of potential clients and referents to ensure that clients meet admission criteria.
  • Enter assessment and admissions data into the EMR, CRM and/or other identified electronic software system.
  • Receive phone calls of inquiry and effectively answers questions about the treatment program.
  • Provide information to clients and families in order to help them decide about treatment, prepare for admission, and what they can expect to encounter.
  • Complete admission process efficiently and accurately, reviewing documents with the client so he / she is aware of rights and responsibilities and the nature of the various consents and releases that are being signed.
  • Verify insurance coverage requirements, exclusions and limitations of prospective and current patient insurance carrier coverage and identification of financial guarantor and payment arrangements.
  • Communicate with referral sources and maintain documentation of all such interactions.
  • Coordinate with the Business Development staff to expedite referrals to the facility.
  • Provide referrals for those individuals who are not eligible for the program.
  • Provide tours for prospective clients and their families, if requested
  • Arrange for obtaining outside medical records in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Represent the program to referral sources, potential clients, and other outside individuals and agencies in a courteous, professional manner that reflects positively on the program and its staff.
  • Function as a liaison between the clinical/medical/housing team and families, coordinates all transportation/travel services and other mental health facilities to organize the admission procedures.
  • Compile statistics and data relevant to admissions.
  • Adhere to DCF, all State and Federal regulations and applicable accrediting agencies.
  • Available to be on-call on a rotating basis, evenings and weekends via telephone.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in social services, management, healthcare, or related discipline preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in admissions, patient access, care management or similar position in a healthcare setting required.
  • Peer Recovery Coach Certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in behavioral health/SUD setting strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance terminology required; experience with commercial payors a plus.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse and recovery process strongly preferred.
