Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Performs administrative duties to support the triage and initial intake investigation process. Conducts the intake investigation interviews related to incoming discrimination, Title IX and/or sexual misconduct, and retaliation complaints. Meets with involved parties to provide information regarding available resources, interim measures, and the resolution processes. Regular engagement with students, faculty, and staff.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Reviews incoming discrimination, Title IX and/or sexual misconduct, and retaliation complaints
2. Conducts initial intake investigation interviews
3. Prepares written summary of investigation interviews
4. Triage cases to assigned investigators after Director's review
5. Maintains department database/records of incoming cases
6. Conducts and manages assigned investigations
7. Develops investigation plans and timelines, identify and interview parties and witnesses, and gather and analyze relevant evidence
8. Drafts comprehensive written investigation reports, gathers and summarize evidence and conducts credibility analysis
9. Utilizes proper policy and analysis framework, applies relevant University System of Georgia and Kennesaw State University policies and procedures and formulates investigative findings and recommendations
10. Communicates regularly with parties and others while maintaining neutrality, integrity, and confidentiality in the investigation
11. Applies subject matter expertise and integrates best practices in investigations by remaining current with relevant laws, changes, policies, procedures, investigative techniques, and trauma-informed investigations with special attention to empathy and sensitivity
12. Maintains detailed, accurate, and comprehensive records and notes related to all assigned case investigations
13. Facilitates informal resolutions between parties as appropriate
14. Works collaboratively with Legal Affairs, Public Safety, Student Affairs, Athletics, Human Resources, and Academic Affairs
15. Provides weekly case status updates and regularly brief the Director or designee in regularly scheduled meetings

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or higher education in a related field.
Required Experience
Five (5) years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
EEO and/or Title IX Investigator certifications, or the ability to obtain training in subject matter area.
Preferred Experience
Experience in closely related field.
Prior background conducting investigations.

Proposed Salary

The budgeted salary range is $63,840 to $71,256. Offers are based on relevant experience.

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of compliance and ability to interpret EEO and Title IX policies to students, faculty, and staff
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Sound writing skills to accurately compose correspondence and investigation reports with a high level of attention to detail
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
