Job description

Under the direction of the Equal Employment Opportunity Officer (EEOO), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst serves as the EEO Investigator to ensure compliance with California Energy Commission policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. The investigator assists the EEOO in objectively monitoring and assessing personnel policies and practices, recommending administrative changes to prevent illegal discrimination/harassment, and handling all matters with sensitivity, confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy. The investigator also conducts internal investigations; meets with employees to discuss possible policy violations; ensures allegations of discrimination, harassment, workplace violence, bullying, and retaliation are properly reviewed; coordinates and assists with special projects; provides training to staff on the EEO and workplace violence complaint process and related topics; maintains a log of case intakes and investigations; coordinates and guides the Disability Advisory Committee and is the liaison between the committee and the executive directorship; and coordinates the Upward Mobility Program.

Working Conditions
The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers. Limited in-person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. This position is remote-based, which means the incumbent works 50 percent or more of their time from an alternate work location.

Department Information The CEC was established by the Legislature in 1974 to address energy challenges facing the state. Today, the CEC is the state's primary energy policy and planning agency and is leading the state to a 100% clean energy future.
