Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families? We are seeking a dynamic Education & Inclusion Manager to lead our early childhood programs.

Under the guidance of the Assistant Vice President of Early Education, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and inclusion. The Education & Inclusion Manager oversees and implements quality assurance mandates, for all Federal and State early childhood contracts and grants.  You will provide support and technical assistance to teachers to implement services that are aligned with Head Start Program Performance Standards, rules, and regulations determined by the Department of Education and Community Care Licensing. This position ensures program quality and implementation to meet best practice standards.

Coordination of Education Services:

  • Plan and supervise the implementation of education services in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Act as a resource for program staff on educational issues.
  • Collaborate with the management team to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Act as an advocate for child and family issues in the community.
  • Lead and oversee the ECEPTS 18-month pilot program, supporting Mentor Coaches.

Technical Assistance:

  • Assist site area managers in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with best practices, Head Start Program Performance Standards, the CA Preschool Learning Framework and Foundations, state mandates and child assessment outcomes.
  • Provide technical assistance to teachers regarding compliance with Early/ Head Start Program Performance Standards, CA Department of Education Funding, and Community Care licensing regulations. 
  • Conduct training for all staff on the Desired Results Developmental Profile and support teachers in creating stimulating and inclusive learning environments.
  • Lead support for inclusive programs with appropriate teaching practices, accommodations and modifications with the Inclusion Team.
  • Support bilingual family education planning meetings and access to professional development.

Policy/Performance Management:

  • Participate in ongoing education-related monitoring and program improvement.
  • Support the implementation of Creative Curriculum and ensure curriculum fidelity.
  • Oversee the submission of Desired Results Developmental Profile scores for all classrooms.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.

Administrative Support:

  • Advise on equipment and materials.
  • Update policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to program quality enhancement.
Qualifications
  • BA Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required 

  • Certified as CLASS reliable – Infant, Toddler and Pre-School aged children 

  • CA Site Supervisor Permit or commitment to meet permit requirements through additional course work 

  • Knowledge of best practices and professional standards in Early Childhood Education  

  • Experience with State Department of Education assessment tools, including but not limited to DRDP, ERS, CLASS assessment and MCOE (Marin County Office of Education) QRIS (Quality Rating Improvement System)

  • Familiar with Community Care Licensing requirements 

  • Experience working with diverse staff and families 

  • Commitment to a program model that supports cultural sensitivity, diversity, and equity 

  • Ability to work with a team decision making model 

  • Deep understanding and ability to articulate the role equity, inclusion, and diversity play in our work 

  • Microsoft 365, Teams, Zoom, proficiency required

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to sit, walk, stoop, and stand intermittently

  • Ability to reach overhead, grasp, push and pull objects such as files and file cabinet drawers 

  • Lifting, raising, or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling) 10-25 lbs. 

  • Carrying: Transporting an object, usually holding it in hands. 

  • Manual dexterity required for computer work.
