Position Overview:

As an Education and Career Development Facilitator at Mission Academy, you'll work closely with our Education and Career Development Manager to create impactful opportunities for student growth and organizational success. Your role will involve coordinating and facilitating various Career Development initiatives onsite and offsite, ensuring that our students receive the support and resources they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with staff to cultivate a professional Education and Career Development environment, fostering the development of both soft and hard skills.
  • Assign students to onsite career and development opportunities, tailoring placements to match their skills and interests.
  • Provide students with the necessary resources, training, and support to excel in their assigned roles.
  • Identify potential improvements to our Career Development programs in collaboration with program leadership.
  • Foster collaboration between Mission Academy students, operational teams, church partnerships, and development teams to drive student growth and organizational success.
  • Implement trauma-informed practices while delivering services, ensuring a supportive and empathetic approach.
  • Ensure equitable and appropriate Career Development assignments across various onsite and offsite opportunities.
  • Build rapport and trust with our staff team to foster a collaborative and supportive environment for our program students.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Education, Business Management, or Organizational Psychology.
  • Preferably, one year of full-time work experience with individuals experiencing homelessness, addiction challenges, mental illness, or dual diagnosis. Nonprofit experience is a plus.
  • Alternatively, at least three years of proven work experience as a training facilitator, training coordinator, or similar role.

Skills:

  • Ability to coordinate and direct multiple complex tasks simultaneously with success.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow, both independently and as part of a team.
