New York, NYGQ U.S. is seeking a Editorial Operations Manager to support the content team, manage web workflow, track progress on daily digital stories, ensure a robust digital editorial calendar, identify opportunities for efficiencies, establish digital best practices, coordinate with commercial partners as needed, and act as a collaborative, cross-functional team player all in service of supporting audience and storytelling goals. This role may also support Pitchfork as needed with similar responsibilities and reports to the Global Director of Editorial Operations.
The ideal candidate will be an incredibly strong self-starter who loves to identify and solve problems. They will be able to balance multiple projects at once and be able to establish priorities across the digital team. Candidates should also have strong editorial judgment and facility with working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain digital editorial calendars and publishing schedules
- Set and manage production deadlines; track story production process; ensure all stakeholders receive digital story assets as needed, including social, newsletter and communications teams
- Work closely with Global Director of Editorial Operations to project manage editorial tent poles and plan key content moments
- Assist with tracking content performance goals
- Ensure formatting and style rules are followed for all stories
- Produce article builds in CMS as needed
- Collaborate with product team on new functionality rollouts and/or find solutions for any product or UX issues
- Support with planning for print and global content rollouts, including Apple News and audio integrations as needed
- Work closely with Global Editorial Operations Director to manage digital content budgets
- Ensure all digital content invoices are correctly received and processed; onboard digital contributors into payment system as needed
- In partnership with Editorial Operations team, ensure appropriate rights are secured for all digital content
- Project manage sponsored content programs, including tracking production budgets and deadlines
- Monitor the website to ensure homepages and landing pages are updated and current
- Work closely with Global Director of Editorial Operations on staff initiatives
- Provide additional operational support as needed
Skills
- 5+ years experience working in a fast-paced online environment
- Strong, self-starter with excellent time management, organization and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity working in/with content management systems
- Enthusiasm for cultural coverage, including fashion, music, entertainment, sports, etc.
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work seamlessly with broad, cross-functional teams
- Proficiency with AirTable, Parse.ly, GSuite (including Slides) a plus
The expected base salary range for this position is from $75,000-$85,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
